Our client Valmet is a reliable technology partner in the changing energy markets. Valmet is  also the world’s leading supplier for CO2 neutral heat & energy solutions for utility, municipal heat & power and process industry. Our clients  fluidizing bed boilers generate sustainable and often local energy from fuels like biomass, recycled wood, recycling residuals and other industrial by-products. Valmet is also a well-known global industrial brand for recovery boilers, evaporation plants, lime kilns and recausticizing units for chemical pulping  industry. The solution portfolio is finally completed by advanced emission control systems which make multiple industries environmentally sustainable. Valmet is  a reliable partner in the green transition of the energy production and enabler for utilization of domestic energy sources to improve energy security.  
We are now looking for a Director, Energy, Recovery and Environmental Services, to lead Valmets Energy Service Sales Organization in Northern Central and Eastern Europe (CEN region). The geographical area of responsibility starts from Ireland and UK, runs through the countries in the central north Europe (Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Austria, Czech, Slovakia) and ends in Romania & Bulgaria in Eastern Europe.

Ihre Tätigkeit

This position is a senior role, requiring deep understanding – and passion – for the energy and process industry. Your primary responsibility is to lead sales, and develop energy, recovery and environmental services business in the CEN region. We see a clear growth potential in Valmets business when sustainability initiatives and energy security issues are driving all organizations through an accelerated energy transition. Our clients service offering focuses on upgrades and maintenance of fluidized bed boilers (BFB and CFB), air emission control equipment (electrostatic precipitators, bag house filters, scrubbers etc.) and pulp mill recovery equipment. You will pursue high customer satisfaction by developing solutions and agreements for Valmets customer needs in service projects. You will also support Valmets capital sales and act as a Key Account Manager for certain key customers in the area. Collaboration with our clients project execution teams is an important element of your work.
You are in the key role of selecting Valmets priorities in selling, steering and developing sales to meet  business targets. As a sales leader, it is your role to set clear targets, monitor performance and coach your team towards accountability and results. You will lead a cohesive team of sales, service and project management professionals in multiple countries in your region. Travelling will be an essential part of the role.
You will report to the Vice President, Energy, Recovery and Environmental Services in EMEA and be a member of the segment’s management team consisting of directors of the other Regions and key functional leaders.

Ihr Profil

Being technology driven business, the role requires suitable educational background and strong subject matter expertise within energy, pulping, process and/or emission control technologies. We develop our business through good substance knowledge of the customer industries and relevant technologies. You maintain good relationships with our customers and will, together with your team and customers, optimize operation, maintenance and safety of the plants. Are the following qualifications meeting with your skills and experience: 
  • Good understanding of energy, pulping and/or process industries and technologies
  • Strong business acumen and experience in doing business in central and eastern Europe
  • Experience in B-t-B contracts and good negotiation skills 
  • Analytical mind and good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to think strategically to grasp business drivers, make plans and implement actions
  • Ability to do financial planning and follow-up
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership and coaching skills both in person and virtually 
  • Ability to network, build relationships and create trust
  • Excellent communication skills, fluency in German and English, both written and oral, other languages are an asset
  • Availability to travel
  • M.Sc./B.Sc. in energy, pulping, chemical or process engineering
